Durango Youth American Football League teams battled weather and tough opponents to a 2-3 record in Week 4 and now are 11-10 overall this season.
The second-grade Demons lost their second consecutive game by one touchdown, 7-0 at Kirtland.
Cayden Hartman and Tyler Harms led Durango’s defense with six tackles each.
Durango will play the Aztec Tigers on Saturday in Kirtland.
The third-grade Demons won their third consecutive game 6-0 in a wet, double-overtime thriller.
Beau Brunson scored the game winner on the ground. He also had 12 tackles on defense.
The Demons will play the Aztec Wildcats at 3 p.m. Saturday at Miller Middle School.
The fourth-grade Demons’ tough stretch continued with a 20-19 loss to the Farmington Bandits.
Doug Malcom threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Sam Carroza, while Jake Swift and Emmet Thompson scored rushing touchdowns.
Durango will play a road game against Pagosa Springs at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The 3-0 fifth-grade Demons had a bye this week and will remain idle next week.
The sixth-grade Demons Red lost 32-0 at home against Bloomfield. They will travel to Pagosa Springs next week.
The sixth-grade Demons White won for the third consecutive week, this time 43-0 over Kirtland.
Everett Howland scored three rushing touchdowns. Joe Arnwine ran for two scores and threw a 25-yard touchdown to Tim Miller. Jake Lakey also found the end zone on the ground for the Demons.
Durango will play Aztec at 9 a.m. Saturday at Miller Middle School.
