All of the Bayfield-Ignacio Young American Football League teams are moving into playoff games on Saturday throughout the Four Corners.
The third grade team plays Durango at 1 p.m. in Bloomfield.
The fourth grade team plays the Farmington Panthers at 11 a.m. in Aztec.
All four fifth grade playoff games will be played in Bayfield on Saturday, with the local team taking on Kirtland at 11 a.m. The team lost their last two games. On Sept. 26 they played the the Farmington Badcats, losing 24-0. Teagan Taylor, Nick Twedt and Caden Wood played well on defense in a hard-fought game. On Oct. 2, the team lost to Cortez. Two touchdowns had Bayfield ahead 13-0 at halftime, but Cortez scored four touchdowns in the second half to win the gam.
The sixth grade Wolverines beat Shiprock, 56-7 on Sept. 26.
They will play Durango at 11 a.m. in Farmington.
Only the winners of the first round will move into the semi-final round of playoffs on Oct. 17. The YAFL Superbowl games are on Saturday, Oct. 24.
