Yarn moves to new location

Yarn Durango has changed locations and names.

Yarn Durango has relocated from Second Street and is sporting a new name. Yarns, Threads & More is now located in the Walmart Shopping Center, 1125 S. Camino Del Rio, 300B.

Yarn originally opened in 2004 on 10th Street and was later relocated to Second Avenue and renamed Yarn Durango. In May 2013, Yarn Durango almost closed forever. While Internet yarn sales and big box craft stores are thriving, Durango does not have the population to interest big box competitors, but still needs a craft store.

When the store branched out into other crafts, such as macramé and embroidery, the response was positive enough to need a bigger, more accessible space. Classes and supplies for yarn and fabric dying, sewing, upcycling and embellishing garments will be offered at the new location.

The new location has free parking, is handicapped -riendly and is near a bus stop. The space features a comfortable lounge area were people regularly come in to imagine, create and connect. For more information, call 259-9827 or visit www.yarndurango.com.
