Yellow Carrot’s Chef Sari Suzanne Seedorf will be on QVC next week displaying her beet and sweet potato chips as part of the channel’s Holiday Gourmet program.
The munchies are part of Seedorf’s separate company designated specifically for snacks – Yellow Carrot Snack Co.
Yellow Carrot Snack Co., founded in 2020, began with Seedorf’s catering company and a desire to supply snacks for weddings. Seedorf touts her snacks as being 100% sustainable.
She often repurposes beet scraps to create other food and drink products, such as rosemary roasted beets, lavender lemonade made from beet roasting water, beet yogurt and beet lavender white chocolate cookies.
Seedorf keeps the recipe for her beet and sweet potato snacks a secret but said she uses a proprietary machine that she made herself to manufacture the chips.
“It's kind of a dream, because there's been a lot of people who have launched really great products through the QVC portal,” Seedorf said.
For the Durango restaurant owner, appearing in front of QVC’s 90 million-plus U.S. viewers is a big step. It is especially relevant because the chef has been working on developing a cooking show since 2022, she said.
Her journey in the restaurant industry began 20 years ago with Cafe Sari and from there she went on to open the Yellow Carrot and branch off into her various endeavors.
She credits her success to Durango’s commitment to supporting local businesses.
Seedorf’s selection to appear on QVC comes on the heels of the Yellow Carrot being featured in America’s Best Restaurants webisode. The Yellow Carrot episode is scheduled to premier in two weeks.
