Amendments T and U are housekeeping measures referred to the voters by overwhelming majorities of both houses of the Legislature. They are worthwhile, but not particularly interesting. Both deserve a ‘Yes’ vote.

Amendment T would remove an unnecessary reference to slavery in the state Constitution. Amendment U would eliminate an esoteric tax in minor cases in which collection costs often exceed the revenue generated.

Neither are controversial nor would they raise taxes, increase spending or impinge on anyone’s liberty.
