We have known Melissa Yousef, her husband, and their children for more than 15 years, through our children’s athletic engagements, various social situations and certain civic commitments.
Melissa is an informed, enthusiastic, positive, engaging individual who does her research on the issues at hand, and she is also a quality listener: rare traits in politicians today!
Please note that these are values of Melissa’s whether she is in an official capacity, or engaging on a personal level. Melissa has established herself and her reputation as a driving force for positive change in our community by participating in and being elected or appointed to multiple community boards, positions that have provided her with knowledge and experience relative to so many issues facing our community right now.
Melissa has served on the Durango School District 9-R and Animas High School boards, in addition to many other volunteer positions. Clearly, she has the backing of many Durango residents for any endeavor she chooses to undertake.
Melissa regards the proverbial glass as half full, always seeing opportunities for solutions where some others see only problems. Durango would be fortunate indeed to have Melissa on city council. We highly encourage you to join us in voting for Melissa Youssef for Durango City Council!
