Pine River Library to host Future Ready Babysitter training

Pine River Library will present the first of four 2020 Future Ready Babysitter Training courses from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 2 and 3 at the library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive.

The course is for 12- to 18-year-olds and will cover basic child care, nutrition, and an introductory understanding of early learning, social/emotional literacy skills, community leadership, business marketing, entrepreneurship and professionalism. There will also be an early childhood care and education career panel and luncheon. Alumni PRL babysitters may audit the new training topics.

The training also features a CPR/first aid training from the American Heart Association. Babysitter Training alumni may recertify CPR/first aid for $20. Attendees must be present both days.

Class fees are sponsored by Pine River Valley Centennial Rotary for the January training. Applications are required and are available online at www.prlibrary.org/babysitter-training-application-2020 or at the library information desk. Applications are due Dec. 28. Applicants will be notified by Dec. 31 of their acceptance for class.
