Representatives of Enterprise Products, the Houston-based oil and gas company that owns the pipeline that ruptured and released an estimated 200,000 gallons of gasoline into the ground, will attend a public meeting Tuesday to discuss the spill.

Enterprise officials will answer questions from community members in a public forum, marking the first opportunity for residents to directly question company representatives since the spill was discovered in December 2024.

The meeting is open to the public, though questions must be submitted in advance through a portal on the La Plata County website at bit.ly/4e2D9jI.

Rick Rainey, Enterprise spokesperson, said the meeting is completely organized by La Plata County commissioners and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

All questions must be sent to the county by Monday to be considered. Questions were originally due by Friday, but the county extended the submission period.

County commissioner Elizabeth Philbrick said Enterprise is being particular about how questions are submitted.

The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Sunnyside Elementary Gymnasium, 75 County Road 218.
