Farmington’s seeks public comment on comprehensive plan

The city of Farmington is moving forward with the second phase of its comprehensive plan update.

Phase 2 – Analysis and Opportunities, includes a community survey about three preliminary vision statements developed around amenities, connectivity and people. Possible opportunities for achieving each vision are included and space is provided for additional public suggestions.

Phase 1 – Foundation and Visioning of the comprehensive plan took place July through September.

The 2040 plan will reflect Farmington’s transformation from an economy predominantly reliant on fossil fuels to one that is more diverse.

The city is working on the update with consultants from Logan Simpson Design Inc., a technical advisory committee made up of city employees, and a steering committee made up of citizens selected by City Council.

Those interested in helping guide the future of Farmington are encouraged to complete the online survey at bit.ly/CompPlanPhase2. The survey is open now through Dec. 5.
