Durango City Councilor Gilda Yazzie takes off running with the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run torch on Tuesday at Rotary Park. Runners from seven countries are on a four-month journey traveling through all 50 states in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States. They share a message that peace begins with the individual. They are stopping at schools and speaking to youth organizations to express their hopes and dreams for peace.
