A group of our “legislators” has shut down the government because of a law that was ratified by both houses of Congress, signed by a president who was re-elected and then upheld by the Supreme Court. The rhetoric from the far-right media is that this is all perfectly acceptable.
I would simply like to know what Republicans think would be appropriate behavior when, inevitably, the tables are turned and a group of left-wing congressmen hijack a Republican president’s legislation. “Patriots” would be screaming for armed insurrection and civil war.
Fanaticism and blind ideology always have been enemies of freedom.
