LPEA ballots come around every year, and every year it’s the single biggest environmental impact we can make at our local level.
Unlike the county commissioner race, where you can vote for two (Marsha Porter-Norton and Matt Salka are my picks), you can only vote in your district for LPEA.
As incumbents, Rachel Landis and Guinn Unger have worked tirelessly to, at a minimum, move Tri-State to a negotiating position. Recently, Delta Montrose co-op negotiated such a buyout and is now free to produce and purchase clean renewable energy.
I feel that LPEA should continue at least looking into this. If nothing else, these negotiations are bringing Tri-State to the table.
