The La Plata Electric Association sends $70 million a year to the Front Range to buy expensive electricity from Tri State, but costs for local wind and solar power in Colorado are decreasing. Clean is now cheaper, but LPEA’s contract requires us to purchase 95 percent of our power from Tri-State.
We can combat this by voting for LPEA board members who will challenge the status quo. We can fight for affordability and sustainability by electing forward-thinking, optimistic leaders. In his past six years as a member of the LPEA Board of Directors, Britt Bassett has advocated for local, safe, and affordable energy. His ambition has allowed him to thrive in the past and will continue to push him to succeed as a leader on the LPEA board and in the community regarding local energy issues. Re-elect Britt Bassett for LPEA Board of Directors when ballots are mailed on April 17!
