100 years ago: Mr. Wells Pollock was a visitor in Durango and would return to his home by train the following Saturday.

75 years ago: Richard Evans returned to Shiprock after he spent a week in Durango filling in as butcher at “the Piggly Wiggly store.”

50 years ago: During a meeting of school, city and “Indian tribal representatives” from Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona, the concept of a vocational school system in Cortez, to serve the Four Corners, was well accepted.

25 years ago: Police began an investigation following at least five different incidents of cars being turned over onto their sides on the east side of Third Avenue between Fifth and 11th streets.
