Thank you from Lloyd Cruz

A couple of months ago, I got bad gas from the Sonoco in Grandview. I immediately called and let Mark, who was working there, know what had transpired. He was very apologetic.

The cost to fix the situation was $331. I returned the next day and stopped just to show Mark the repair bill. Donna, the owner, happened to be there, so Mark introduced us and explained what had happened. Without hesitation, Donna said I would be completely reimbursed. A few weeks later, I received a check for the entire amount.

I just recently returned some shoes that had fallen apart because of a manufacturer defect. After I explained to the clerk, she cheerfully responded, “Nobody’s perfect and that is not a problem.” She promptly returned with two matching pair of shoes and said, “Here you go!” I told her the story about the gas, and after that day I would be writing to the Herald about the second act of kindness.

In a time where many will not take responsibility these days, Sonoco and Browns Shoe Store stepped up to the plate. I will faithfully continue to give them my business. Thanks Durango!
