I have been living in Southwest Colorado for 18 years and consider it a beautiful and unique part of the state that offers all of the best parts of Colorado.
I couldn’t be more excited about all of the amazing things happening in our state, and I want our elected representatives to share my excitement and energy about our future because there is still work to be done to get us there.
In the race for state representative this year, I think the candidate who shares that energy is Barbara McLachlan. McLachlan spent 20 years as a teacher at Durango High School. She was recognized with a national Teacher of the Year award for her incredible ability to keep her students engaged and motivated.
Now that she is running for the statehouse, it seems as though she hasn’t lost any of that excitement. She has been traveling extensively throughout the district and is focusing her campaign on bringing the 59th District into the future.
She is focusing her campaign on improving education, protecting the environment and leveling the economic playing field. Addressing each of these issues is going to be key to pushing our wonderful home to a bright future; McLachlan’s focus on them shows a commitment to moving ahead in Southwest Colorado.
Let’s keep moving forward and elect Barbara McLachlan to the statehouse this November.
