Durango School District 9-R Board of Education is now accepting applications from people living in Director District A who are interested in serving on the Board of Education from the date of appointment until the 2021 regular biennial school election.
To be eligible for the appointment, a candidate must have been a resident of the school district for the past 12 months, be a registered voter of the school district and a current resident of Director District A. A director district boundary map is available on the 9-R district website at www.durangoschools.org or from the 9-R Superintendent’s Office located in the Central Administration Building, 201 E. 12th St.
Those who want to be considered for the appointment will need to file a letter of interest with the board clerk by 4 p.m. Feb. 19. The letter should include information pertinent to qualifications and reasons for applying, and should be submitted by mail to: Sarah Berggren, Board Clerk, 201 E. 12th St., Durango, CO 81301, or by email: sberggren@durangoschools.org.
The board will interview prospective candidates at a public meeting 5 p.m. Feb. 25.
