Bobcats score a first

IHS girls soccer team scores their first goal of the season

Winless on the season, the Ignacio Bobcats’ goal is to get better every game.

The Ignacio High School girls soccer team took that step Tuesday night at Alamosa. Tristan Boone, with an assist from Cheyenne Cook, scored the Bobcats’ first goal of the season in a 9-1 loss at Alamosa.

“That’s a good feeling for everybody,” IHS head coach Oscar Cosio said.

Ignacio’s goal came with about three minutes left in regulation, Cosio said.

“We played well. Alamosa is tough, a tough, tough team,” Cosio said.

Cosio also singled out freshman Tori Archuleta in the Bobcats’ midfield.

“She was awesome,” he said.

Ignacio (0-4) next will host Ridgway at 11 a.m. Saturday.

“We’ll keep plugging away, trying to get better every game,” Cosio said.
