Community college to offer 3-D printing class

Printing out body parts? Cornell University researchers showed it’s possible by creating a replacement ear using a 3-D printer and injections of living cells. Southwest Colorado Community College will offer a class in 3-D printing models.

Southwest Colorado Community College is offering a one-semester class in three-dimensional printing to create 3-D models from computer-assisted design plans.

The class will focus on learning basic computer-aided drafting skills, including file management, drawing set-ups, drawing geometric shapes, text applications and dimensioning.

The class meets Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 7:50 p.m., Jan. 19 to May 13, at the Mancos campus, 33057 Highway 160, between the Montezuma County Fairgrounds and the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park.
