In regard to the news that water rates may change, I feel I must comment.
City operations director Levi Lloyd stated that water conservation was the goal. Why then is the city looking at changing the pay structure so that people who use more water pay less?
Consultants who were paid $37,500 identified three different rate structures that would reward those who are using more water by reducing the rate that they pay. Sounds like something Trump lovers would propose; giving the breaks to the people with the most money.
I’m hopeful that our new Council will see the flaws in this kind of thinking and act accordingly.
