The Womenade Council would like to thank the donors for their support of our community. Despite not having the fundraising event, donors mailed funds to the Women’s Resource Center providing one-time grants to help with rent, medical and LPEA bills.
Our goal with each event is to provide financial help for women in our community who are normally self-sufficient and experiencing an unexpected financial hardship. While we were unable to meet at the Rochester Hotel for our gathering, your generosity did provide three one-time grants for citizens in our community. Without this help, these women would begin a downward spiral that would be difficult to recover from, even in the best of times.
We would like to thank the Women’s Resource Center for helping us navigate through these unprecedented times. They provided us the ability to make decisions that would benefit applicants from the funds received. We could not have done this without their help.
Our next Womenade fundraiser is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 18 at the Rochester Hotel. Given the current and anticipated financial situations of many of our community members, we are expecting an increase in requests for financial help. We hope you can join us, enjoy the company of friends and continue to make a difference in La Plata County.
