The Powerhouse Science Center will host the “Gear up: The science of bikes” exhibit beginning May 29.
The exhibit is organized by Carnegie Science Center and highlights how bikes work, the history and evolution of the bike, the science and technology behind the machine, and how bikes have impacted culture. The exhibition is designed to appeal to all ages and diverse interests, from STEM to design to history to art.
Visitors will learn more about ancestors of the modern bicycle, classic bikes, sport bikes and customized bikes.There are also a dozen interactive science exhibits, including “Hit the Brakes,” “Bike Body Xylophone” and “Gear Table.”
Admission is $10 for children, seniors, educators, students and military and $14 for adults. Show a SNAP card for $1 admission as a part of the museum of all program.
