Gardner is deluded on Green New Deal

Few statements are more revealing than when someone in Sen. Cory Gardner’s position submits a wandering diatribe slamming everything from the Green New Deal to recent Colorado legislation for no other reason than these issues are raised by Democrats (“

That would not be so insulting if Gardner could actually tell his constituents what socialism is, and where in the Green New Deal such horrors lie. What he trivializes are serious issues that deserve thought, discussion and steps to be taken to address them because of their gravity; yet Gardner nonchalantly discounts them as distractions. That is the sleight of hand Gardner expects his constituents to marvel at.

Analysis does not appear to be Gardner’s strong suit; going along and doing what he’s told, no matter what the results or damage, does. It is obvious that his first allegiance is to the Republican Party, not to good governance. Ambition is one thing; most every politician, regardless of party, has a major share of it. But to set aside reason and judgment for ambition, then say it’s for the public good and expect voters not to see through that thin veil is delusion, not leadership.
