Scouts, food drive show Durango cares

Durango has once again proven its generosity as a community.

Saturday, Feb. 16, the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of our community picked up 3,543 pounds of food for the Durango Food Bank.

Not only is this an important project for those suffering from food insecurity, but also it is an important project for the Scouts as they begin what we leaders hope is a lifetime of service to our communities, our country and the world.

Thanks to all who donated to our project. Thank you, too, to all the Scouts who participated.

And thank you to all the adults and parents of our troops and packs who make Scouting successful.

Rob Kolter, scoutmaster, Troop 501
