I encouraged Stephanie Moran to run for the 9-R school board seven years ago and I couldn’t be prouder of the excellent work she has done for our students and our community.
She is an excellent educator of 40 years and both of her sons graduated from Durango High School. We are entering turbulent times at 9-R and it is essential to keep Stephanie’s years of experience on the board and her analytical thinking in place as critical decisions are made.
She finds creative solutions and works to collaborate with other organizations to maximize and leverage 9-R’s limited resources. Having an educator of her caliber and varied experience has led to significant teacher and classified staff pay raises. These bring stability to our schools, which benefits our students every day.
Her positive influence is also reflected in the increased high school graduation rate, up 5% during her terms and above the state average.
Stephanie is accessible to parents and students and is sensitive to the needs of those with special challenges, academically and financially. Please join me in voting to keep Stephanie Moran on our 9-R school board. She has earned our respect, and our appreciation for her tireless work to improve our schools, and she has earned your vote.
