The MakerLab at Powerhouse will host a free celebration for the Inaugural Spring-Build-Up furniture building contest at 4 p.m. Thursday at Powerhouse Science Center, 1333 Camino del Rio.
The competition will use upcycling from the spring city cleanup piles, along with other recycled goods.
Submissions need to be dropped off by 4 p.m. Thursday. Final judging will take place at 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, with complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. The winner of the best piece of furniture will receive a $250 cash prize, along with other unique prizes for competitors.
