Although it appears to be fashionable to complain about city services, I would like to commend one (there are many others deserving) that is both valuable and incredibly cost effective, and that is code enforcement.
I spent my career managing construction and infrastructure, and have lived in small, medium and large cities; I’ve seen the results of weak laws and poor oversight (counties not far from here are a good example).
What Durango does with two people and thousands of codes is an incredible asset to protecting our wonderful quality of life.
