More gun laws won’t stop evil-doers

I spent some time talking to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

CBI couldn’t answer the question: how many gun laws are already on the books? They suggested contacting the ATF. Spoke to a helpful lady who pointed me to their website, all federal laws in place going back decades. In two hours of searching, I printed 250 pages of laws pertaining to all makes of firearms.

I also signed up for ATF’s emails on updates. Twenty-five years ago, I read from trusted sources that there were at least 22,000 gun laws in place. This doesn’t begin to scratch the surface of individual states, counties, cities and towns. So in light of this eye-opening preponderance of gun laws, please, would someone enlighten us as to how more gun laws will stop evil killers?

We are drowning in gun laws that prevented no one from committing mass murders. Those whose goal is power know that.

There is evil in the world. Guns are inanimate tools incapable of action or emotion. Noah Webster said, “Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword, as the whole body of the people are armed.”

Ask the Jews who survived the Holocaust what the first step was.

Evil will always find a way to destroy.
