Minnie Gulch near Silverton is this trail. Minnie Gulch is a spectacular and beautiful place. It is home to blankets of wildflowers, pikas, unspoiled alpine tundra and wonderful peace and quiet.
The roads and trails around Silverton are already congested with high-clearance vehicles, ATVs and, yes, dirt bikes. Do we really need more noise and pollution to impact our mountain environment?
Has an environmental impact study been done on this home to many pikas?
The BLM should absolutely not allow this amazing area to be disturbed by construction of a motorized trail.
Let us not allow compromise to the serenity and beauty of this alpine valley.
