I’m sure I’m not the only person who has seen the behavior of many state and national Democrats and been appalled.
Prioritizing the new red-scare Russia hysteria, pointless inquiries and hearings and the feeding of a ceaseless media circus over accomplishing anything useful is disgusting and absolutely unsurprising.
Let’s not even start on the constant saber-rattling imperialism and defense of corporate government so beloved of the neo-liberal establishment, and which would make Ronald Reagan proud.
Which brings me to my point: even though I loathe our current two-party system and all its hypocrisy, Democrats and Republicans alike, I’m going to be casting a vote for Bernie Sanders this March, and another vote for Bernie Sanders next November. It’s not a vote for a Democrat, it’s a vote for a man who actually stands for something, the same things he stood for in 2016. Who else has that consistency?
For the record, I disagree strongly with a couple of Bernie Sanders’ positions, but I do support the broad outline of his campaign, which isn’t true of any of the others. And if the eventual Democratic nominee is someone else?
I’ll be voting for Sanders a year from now.
