Pot toxicity in animals to be discussed
A free community presentation called “Marijuana Toxicity in Animals” will take place at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
Randy Hays of Riverview Animal Hospital will lead the presentation. Participants will learn more about how marijuana can affect dogs and cats and what people need to do if it happens to their pet.

Workshop to offer training for doulas
A Labor Doula Training Workshop will be held from Aug. 8 to Aug. 10 at Café of Life Chiropractic, 925 Colorado Highway 3.
This is a 16-hour training to become certified as a labor doula with the Childbirth and Postpartum Professionals Association.
The training will cover normal labor, assisting in natural childbirth, hospital procedures, breast-feeding and postpartum care.
