To support sustainability activities, Rotary Club of Durango Daybreak launched an initiative to install bike racks for small businesses and local nonprofits.
Bike racks make it easier for residents to bike or walk when running errands, which helps reduce the city’s carbon footprint and improve personal health.
A Rotary Daybreak crew will install racks free when small businesses pay for the rack. For nonprofits, some money is available from Rotary to pay for racks in addition to free installation.
The first installation of two racks took place Thursday at Manna soup kitchen during Durango Clean Commute Week.
