San Juan Regional Medical Center to honor nurses

San Juan Regional Medical Center partnered with the DAISY Foundation, an international recognition program, to honor local nurses.

The DAISY Foundation stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System and was formed as a nonprofit organization by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at the age of 33 of complications of an autoimmune disease. The nursing care he received in the hospital profoundly affected his family, and they created the foundation to honor Patrick’s memory and thank nurses.

Patients and their family members are invited to share stories of how a nurse made a difference in their life by downloading a nomination at www.sanjuanregional.com/daisy and submitting by email to daisyaward@sjrmc.net.

Nominations will be accepted through Sept. 15 for recognition in October.
