Columbine Landscapes named Iris Filbey as a new crew leader with the company.
Filbey has a degree in history and worked in archival offices for several years before returning to hands-on work.
In 2015, Filbey attended a season-long urban farming apprenticeship, which solidified her desire to work with plants outdoors. She moved to Durango with her husband in March and joined the Columbine Landscapes team. She will continue learning about Colorado’s native plants, protecting pollinators and sustainable gardening practices.
