It was both interesting and informative reading in the Jan. 16 Herald about Robert Blaha’s entrance into the next federal senatorial election dust up.
Replacing teacher Michael Bennet with businessman Blaha, who sounds remarkably like Donald Trump, is a great idea. While Blaha’s “product guarantee” of 50 percent deficit reduction, elimination of the death tax and 50 percent illegal immigration reduction are all music to my old conservative ears, what I’d really like to see are his TV ads. Fat chance!
While Bennet, Tipton and Gardner have all promised positive action bringing Denver TV stations to Durango, once again, nothing has happened. Question: Why is the FCC allowed by our lawmakers to continue thumbing its nose at us? Year after year goes by without any real explanation as to why the FCC has not directed Nielsen to make the change, i.e., move the affected southern Colorado counties from the Albuquerque marketing area to Denver’s.
This is an election year – maybe the most important ever. Durangoans need to see and hear as much Colorado politics as possible. Please contact Tipton, Bennet and Gardner regarding this hugely important issue.
