The town of Bayfield issued a proclamation Monday in support of Colorado Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Bayfield Marshal’s Office is selling pink breast cancer awareness badges for $15. All proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen organization, which raises money for cancer research and treatment.
Every year, about 255,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the U.S., and 42,000 die from it annually, the town said in its proclamation. About one of every 100 breast cancer cases are found in men.
