The Durango High School boys soccer team will host D’Evelyn High School of Denver at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the second round of the class 4A state playoffs.

D’Evelyn, the tournament’s No. 12 seed, beat No. 21 Summit 1-0 in the first round.

No.5 Durango, meanwhile, started its tournament by beating No. 28 Erie 3-1 on its home turf.

D’Evelyn will bring an 11-5-0 record to town to take on DHS (13-1-2).

The winner of Wednesday’s match will take on the winner of No. 4 Denver North and No. 20 Palmer Ridge in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

If Palmer Ridge upsets Denver North and Durango wins Wednesday, that game will also take place in Durango. If Denver North wins, they’ll host the quarterfinal. The semifinals and finals will take place at neutral locations.

The tournament’s top 10 seeds all won their first round games, while only five of the lower seeds won in the round of 32.
