Spending lodgers tax money on charging stations perplexes me.
Charging stations should be left to private business, rather than using public money. Gas-fueled automobiles rely on private enterprise for fill-ups. Why not provide incentives to gas stations to install electric charging stations on their property, which would begin the shift from public to private enterprise? This way, government entities wouldn’t have to pay for the infrastructure and ongoing maintenance of the stations.
This would then free up the parking spaces for traditional tourism, which seems to be in short supply.
