Shared School is a free program that is provided by Durango School District 9-R for home-school families.
It has two programs: a Tuesday/Thursday program, and a Wednesday program. Both programs have physical education, Spanish, art, drama, Mind & Heart, and academic enrichment. The Tuesday/Thursday program also has music. Shared School focuses on project-based learning and collaborate activities across the grade levels.
The school goes on field trips, puts on play performances, a talent show each year and more. It is located at Animas Valley Elementary and it now offers limited bus transportation.
