If you have a staff editorial, there is no way for subscribers to respond. I think this is wrong. You have recently printed a staff editorial stating that our county commission should appoint a Republican to replace Mr. Church, who resigned (Herald, June 27). There is no way to comment on this editorial.

My comment, if I could have made it, would have been if they could have found a Republican like Brad Blake, sure, do it. He served as a commissioner with two Democrats who personally told me that he did a good job. But finding a Republican like him these days is a very sketchy situation.

Blake is currently on the LPEA board and is probably not available to return to the county commission. So what Republican does your staff writer recommend? There are so many Republicans about that seem mentally impaired, so I validly question what Republican your staff writer recommends.

In any event, subscribers should be able to comment online to staff editorials.
