I find it terribly ironic that city and business leaders, who for years have pushed so fiercely for growth at any cost, now find themselves protesting the inevitable results of that growth.
Remember the lodgers tax increase for “sustainable” tourism marketing? Millions of dollars went into advertising Durango as a recreational utopia.
Congratulations! With that growth come chain stores, franchises and corporate entities that slowly squeeze the small businesses you claim to love.
