Tom Givón’s letter on the subject of empathy rings hollow when reading some of the quotes from Democrats in congress “
Democrat Majority Whip James Clyburn’s view of the crisis was that it was a “tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, “Mitch McConnell & the GOP are pushing a crony capitalist slush fund for friends and donors.”
Democrats have stalled relief funds in the Senate trying to add a mandate on airlines to publish CO² emissions for each flight. The house also traded to push “election reform” that would require every state to allow early voting, mail-in ballots and same-day voter registration. All of this in a bill set to give relief to the public and strengthen our health care system.
Rahm Emanuel, Barack Obama’s former chief of staff, was certainly right when he said that “Democrats should never let a good crisis go to waste.”
