CSU Extension to host native plants seminar

CSU Extension La Plata County will host a virtual seminar by Jennifer Bousselot, “Future Garden Favorites: Native Plants” at 6 p.m. Thursday as part of the Extension Office’s Spring Webinar Series.

Native plants can provide many benefits to pollinators and people. Attendees will discover the basics of native plant gardening, including selection, care and cultural requirements. Bousselot will address CSU research about how native plants can be managed so they are more attractive in the nursery.

Bousselot is an assistant professor in the department of horticulture and landscape architecture at CSU and co-author of the Colorado Native Plant Society’s published third edition of “Common Southwestern Native Plants” and the updated the newly released “Trees and Shrubs of New Mexico.”
