Reliable, affordable, clean energy isn’t just a utility issue – it’s the foundation of our local economy. Schools, hospitals, restaurants, contractors and industry all need reliable power at reasonable rates to thrive. That’s why I’m supporting David Luschen (District 4) and Jenn Jenkins (District 3) for the LPEA board.
David Luschen brings 26 years of electric utility experience to a cooperative at a pivotal moment. Since joining the board, LPEA has secured a 10% reduction in power purchasing costs, launched Sunnyside Community Solar and gained local control of our energy infrastructure. His work to join the Southwest Power Pool opens new doors for affordable and reliable locally sourced generation, including the recent Vallecito Hydro partnership. David understands that energy security isn’t abstract – it’s what keeps our lights on and our rates stable.
Jenn Jenkins brings 20 years of experience working with rural cooperatives and national labs, helping communities like ours navigate rising demand, grid transitions and wildfire risk. She understands that energy decisions must reflect our values, not be handed down by outside interests. Her commitment to listening to every member, regardless of politics, is exactly the kind of trust-building LPEA needs right now.
Together, they represent the technical depth and community-first leadership our cooperative deserves. Ballots are open – I encourage every LPEA member to vote.
