Phil Weiser shows up to listen

Since before his election as attorney general in 2018, Phil Weiser has crisscrossed Colorado listening to the concerns of communities across the state.

That includes the coal communities of conservative Northwest Colorado, which face major economic challenges from the closure of mines and power plants. In response, they formed JOLT, Joint Organizations Leading Transition. Among other activities, JOLT has hosted annual Northwest Colorado Energy Summits since 2023 to explore options for the future.

Weiser has spoken at each of the JOLT summits. I have attended twice and noted his remarks highlighting actions that he and his office have taken to support rural Colorado communities.

Last year, during the Q&A session following his breakfast remarks, an audience member expressed hope that Weiser would win the Democratic nomination for governor because he had repeatedly come to speak with them and listen to their concerns.

For more than eight years, Phil Weiser has been on the ground in Colorado listening, even as he has served as the state’s chief legal officer. In that role, over the past year and a half, he has actively asserted Colorado’s rights against attempted encroachment by the federal government.

Please join me in voting for Phil Weiser as the Democratic candidate for Colorado governor, because Phil Weiser shows up for all of us.
