During the last few months, our communities have pulled together in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Centura Health-Mercy Regional Medical Center is incredibly grateful for the influx of donated supplies and support.
Mercy has benefited from the tireless efforts of many volunteers, including those at the Durango PowerHouse Science Center’s Maker Lab. As this incredible group of volunteers begins to wind down production of personal protective equipment and transitions back to their regular careers, we want to thank them for their efforts and dedication to ensuring the safety of our patients and staff. These volunteers have supplied Mercy with:
2,509 masks created by more than 300 volunteers132 house-wrap gowns and one cloth gown100 face shields20 powered air purifying respirators (PAPR)HeadbandsMercy is well-prepared to fight this pandemic in part because of the support of our concerned and engaged community. Currently, Mercy has adequate PPE supplies to continue to ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, staff and community, and as we transition into the next phase of our COVID-19 response, we will continue our diligent commitment to the mindful use of supplies.
As a reminder, those visiting Mercy are required to bring and wear their own face coverings when in the building.
