A standing ovation to the unsung heroes at St Columba! Our family has been experiencing a very challenging and tragic time. Words cannot express my gratitude to St Columba School and the outstanding teachers who have rallied around my son with authentic compassion and concern.
These teachers are serving St. Columba with minimal compensation and investing very long hours. They are accessible and respond almost immediately, regardless of the day of the week or time of day. As a professor in higher education, I have observed some of the finest and creative pedagogy from these teachers. However, what makes a difference in a child’s life, particularly a child in crisis, is having teachers who are genuinely concerned, willing to partner with parents, and who go above and beyond to champion and mentor students. Mrs. May-O and Mrs. Patrick are gifts to the field of education and serve as outstanding exemplars of teachers.
