Anthony Flint scored 17 of Durango’s 30 points, and that wasn’t enough for the Demons to get a second road league win of the week.
Grand Junction (3-3, 1-1 5A/4A Southwestern League) received 14 points from Dillon Chapman and 19 points from Blaine Butler, who made six 3-pointers with three in the first quarter alone. That was enough to blow past the visiting Demons (3-3, 1-1 SWL).
“We got down 13-4 early and couldn’t get anything going on offense,” DHS head coach Alan Batiste said. “Their defense was excellent. We have to be more aggressive like we were versus Fruita.”
Durango will visit Montezuma-Cortez at 6 p.m. Tuesday. DHS beat the Panthers 71-54 last Saturday in Durango.
