I listened and learned from all the candidates at a recent public debate. The Democrats became professionals in their own fields – through education and years of experience – before running for public office. If you were hiring for these jobs, instead of voting them in, isn’t that the bottom line?
We have the possibility of hiring a sheriff with a degree in public safety; a treasurer with degrees in accounting and business management; a legislator with a law degree; a commissioner who is a professional land planner instead of a plumber; and even a coroner with 34 years in criminal justice and investigations. All of them have worked successfully for years in their professions.
To me, their hard-earned credentials speak of a level of commitment and quality that our growing county needs and deserves. The Democrats in this election are professionals. Let’s hire them.
