The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference isn’t done honoring the strong play of Fort Lewis College center Alex Herrera.
He was named to the 2014 RMAC Basketball All-Tournament Team on Saturday after the RMAC Shootout championship game.
Herrera averaged 17 points, 11 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in two postseason games.
FLC defeated CSU-Pueblo 79-68 on Tuesday before national No. 1 Metro State knocked it out of the tournament Friday.
The Skyhawks center was named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year and earned a place on his second consecutive all-conference team.
Herrera set both the FLC and RMAC single-season blocks record by swatting 97 shots.
He averaged 18.9 points and 9.2 rebounds in his junior season.
